“For I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from his love. Death can’t, and life can’t.
The angels won’t, and all the powers of hell itself cannot keep God’s love away.
Our fears for today, our worries about tomorrow, or where we are—high above the sky, or in the deepest ocean—nothing will ever be able to separate us from the love of God demonstrated by our Lord Jesus Christ when he died for us.
- Romans 8:38-39 TLB”

“Long ago, even before he made the world,
God chose us to be his very own through what Christ would do for us.
His unchanging plan has always been to adopt us into his own family by sending Jesus Christ to die for us.
And he did this because he wanted to!
- Ephesians 1:4,6”

Memorial Day

Happy Memorial Day! Today we remember and celebrate those who have/are dedicated/dedicating their lives to protect and preserve our freedom. I hope we never take that for granted, freedom is such a precious thing.

“All of you are people who belong to the light, who belong to the day. We do not belong to the night or to the darkness. So then, we should not be sleeping like the others; we should be awake and sober. It is at night when people sleep; it is at night when they get drunk. But we belong to the day, and we should be sober. We must wear faith and love as a breastplate, and our hope of salvation as a helmet. - 1 Thessalonians 5:5-8”

Mercy Tree

But he was pierced for our rebellion, crushed for our sins. He was beaten so we could be whole. He was whipped so we could be healed. - Isaiah 53:5NLT

As we approach Easter and the remembrance of Jesus’ death & resurrection I’m reminded once again of just how great His love for us was, still is & will always be.

Jesus could have called thousands of angels to rescue him that day He was to be taken by the Roman soldiers(Matthew 26:53-54, Matthew 27), but that wasn’t what he chose.

He chose to endure the most horrible pain, agony, ridicule & eventually  death on a cross, between two common thieves.

(Usually those who were sentenced to death on a cross never even made it to the cross. They died from the brutal treatment leading up to it)

He didn’t die because He deserved it, (He had committed no crime) but because he loved us.

Can you imagine being charged for a crime you committed with the sentence being death and then having someone innocent stand up and say they will take your sentence upon themselves so you can live?

That’s exactly what Jesus did for us. The crime was sin and we were the offenders. The consequence was death.

The only one who could save us and who could ever save us is Jesus(completely without sin, spotless).

And being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross. Therefore God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. - Philippians 2:8-11ESV

Jesus, the one and only perfect person, who never sinned.

Jesus, commander of heaven’s army, God’s only son, chose to come to earth in earthly form and at the end of that short life died as if a criminal, taking the place we should been in and gave His life so that we might be whole and have eternal life.

For God expressed His love for the world in this way: He gave His only Son so that whoever believes in Him will not face everlasting destruction, but will have everlasting life. Here’s the point. God didn’t send His Son into the world to judge it; instead, He is here to rescue a world headed toward certain destruction. - John 3:16-17(VOICE)

Now, that is love. There is truly no greater love than this.

Though Jesus died a brutal, gruesome death, death could not hold Him. Christ is risen, He is risen indeed.

Then people will mock Him, spit upon Him, whip Him, and kill Him. But on the third day, He will rise again.- Mark 10:34

He was willing to die a shameful death on the cross because of the joy he knew would be his afterwards; and now he sits in the place of honor by the throne of God. Hebrews 12:2(TLB)

♫Death has died. Love has won!
Hallelujah! Hallelujah!
Jesus Christ has overcome.
He has risen from the dead.♪ - Mercy Tree

Hoping you experience God’s love in a fresh new way this Easter.
